About Luke
Luke grew up in West Yorkshire before studying for a master's degree in chemistry at The University of Manchester. During this time he completed a year in industry at Concept Life Sciences, publishing a tandem borylation/Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling reaction between sp2 and sp3 carbon centres. Currently, Luke is studying for a PhD as part of the Strathclyde-GSK collaborative PhD programme where he works in the process chemistry division, developing more efficient and environmentally friendly methods for performing reactions on scale. He is co-supervised by Dr Katherine Wheelhouse, Marc, and Prof. Billy Kerr.
Outside of Chemistry, Luke enjoys the outdoors. He has completed the Incan trail and is undertaking the three peaks challenge.
