Day 881 - Burst
If the mucus doesn’t blind you, the coughing fit might.
Every syllable requires effort. Every breath, laboured.
These are the signals from your physical frame that your mental ambition tried to sideline. Now, sniffles and croaks are just the audible end point of the interoception you ignored earlier.
Your body knows the score better than you do.
Your ambition gives you phantom extra hands to spin more plates than you should. That same demented drive can render you ignorant to the body begging you to let some plates smash.
The day job, the extra things you said “yes” to in the day job, the side hustle, the meetings, the projects, and everything else besides…
The east part is to run yourself into the ground, one with the broken plates. The real challenge, the thing that will actually impress, is your ability to step back. Look after yourself.
How can you recharge, removed from the temptation of just going back to work as usual?
