Day 685 - Letting Go...
It came from you. Without you, it would never be. In you, through you, there seems to be no need to justify the tightness of your grip. That love, that connection, that attachment, it’s all manifest in the embrace of your baby.
But how might what you hold be more? To you, your stewardship feels like a protecting, nurturing norm. Consider the tougher interpretation of that same care. What if you’re hindering more than helping? What if you’re shielding more than sharing, postponing more than promoting?
It’s the project whose creative spark once occurred to you. It’s the decision that no longer rests with you. It’s your child, walking confidently, excitedly through the school gates for the very first time.
In that moment when you have no worldly idea where the time went, that lump in your throat is the best medicine you can swallow. The thing that started with you might fly higher when it’s no longer under your wing.
Consider what you’re holding on to that will one day benefit from you letting go.
