Hayley completed her MChem at the University of Edinburgh in 2019. During her undergraduate degree, she did a year in industry with Solvay in the USA. Her final year project was completed in Michael Cowley's research group doing synthetic main group chemistry. After graduation, Hayley worked for the Royal Society of Chemistry as a publishing editor on the journals Dalton Transactions, CrystEngComm and New Journal of Chemistry before starting her PhD in January 2021. Her PhD studies, co-supervised by Marc, David Nelson, and Dave Palmer, involve the use of machine learning and high throughput experimentation in optimising catalytic reactions.
